About Here & Human Wellness
Here & Human is where the practical parts of wellness meet the messier experience of actually being alive.
You’ll find evidence-based guidance about food, nutrition, midlife, movement, sleep, and feeding a family, but also writing about relationships, identity, uncertainty, awareness, and our tendency to turn ourselves and our lives into projects that need fixing.
Some of it is practical. Some of it is personal. And some of it simply asks us to look more closely at what is already here.
What you’ll find here
Nourish: Food, nutrition, meal planning, recipes, sports nutrition, and feeding ourselves and our families.
Midlife: Perimenopause, menopause, strength, sleep, changing bodies, and navigating this particular season of being a woman.
Family: Parenting, teenagers, youth sports, family meals, and the complicated experience of raising humans while being one yourself.
Being Human: Essays about thought, identity, relationships, uncertainty, awareness, and living well without making wellness another thing to get right.

About Jennifer
I’m Jennifer McDaniel, MS, RDN, LD a registered dietitian, writer, mother of three, and founder of McDaniel Nutrition Therapy.
I’ve spent much of my career helping people improve their health through food and evidence-based nutrition. But these days, I’m increasingly interested in a kind of wellness that asks us to do less fixing and more being.
Here & Human is where those parts of my life and work come together: nutrition and midlife, family and relationships, science and lived experience, and the quieter questions of what it means to be human.
I’m glad you’re here.
